Gail Bartley was born and raised in Kansas City. She began making jewelry in high school, learning the basics of silversmithing, wax carving, casting and design at an early age. She honed her craft with an apprenticeship in a jewelry repair shop while learning the meticulous skill of wax carving; a method still used to create molds for the most exquisite pieces of handcrafted jewelry. Soon this specialized art form became a devoted career. Gail began working from home until the demand for her unique services made her a fixture in area jewelry stores. For over 30 years she has provided the highest quality molds for much of the Kansas City area, and her skills and reputation have garnered many national and international clients as well. She has mastered her craft from years of working with jewelers and patrons to achieve the best possible creations.
Aside from wax carving, Gail expresses her creativity through gardening and cooking for her cherished children and grandchildren. She has a beautiful sunflower garden outside her front door. Gail and her husband, Don, have 4 sons, 1 daughter and 5 grandchildren in their happily blended family.
When we decided that the first products we wanted to create with our symbols were sterling silver charms, we reached out to a trusted friend in Kansas who works for a high-end jewelry store. She informed us that Gail was the best in the business, and that other mold makers seek her guidance when they need help with a complex design. Gail took our two-dimensional drawings and turned them into intricately shaped three-dimensional works of art. She has turned our symbols into beautiful, timeless pieces of jewelry!
